Welcome to the webpage of One to Trees (123s), an ecological education nonprofit founded in Brazil in 2006.
Our root is the Adopt a Teacher program.

Our vision is to see all traditional school subjects taught
from an environmental point of view.

Our mission is to empower teachers committed to ecological education.

Our values are union, transparency and non-violence.

Union is a bridge we cultivate on different levels:

between human & nature,
between theory & practice
and among all fields of knowledge, through the understanding of ecology as the study of one home: Earth.

As to transparency, at least 80% of all donations we receive go directly to adopt ecological teachers to work in low income areas. We are committed to publishing all the financial reports of our organization and monthly updates of each adopted teacher.

About non-violence, if you ever read The Giving Tree you know what we mean... If you didn't have the pleasure, please allow us to tell our own story of learning non-violence from a tree.

In 2010, we started the Seeder-Teacher Grant.

We have just released the Grant Manual for the 2nd semester of 2010: you may read the new manual for the Seeder-Teacher Grant and download a blank application to submit an ecological education project until the 10th of July, 2010.

We are very proud of our blog, because it is where we publish monthly reports and dreams of the adopted teachers.

We believe this sharing may inspire other teachers to review their teaching from an environmental perspective.

Outside of Brazil, you may donate using Paypal, which is a safe and easy method of giving us financial support.

Since we are an NGO registered & based in Brazil, your donation is not tax-deductible. Everyday we fight the post-colonial bureaucracy and we will love to let you know when we become tax-deductable.

Any amount is welcome, but please note that PayPal charges
1.9% to 2.9% + USD $0.30 of the donation total.

Therefore, if you donate USD $10.00, we may receive USD $9.60.
We commit to using 80% of this amount directly to adopt teachers;
the other 20% are reserved for maintain administrative costs.
